LARGER THAN LIFE

MAGAZINE COVER/ ILLUSTRATION

Project Overview: For this project we were asked to design a magazine cover using photoshop using nondestructive techniques to ensure that the design can be easily modified and adapted.

This project was inspired by my desire to have a sustainable wardrobe and to build a capsule closet. A lot of people, in my opinion, have trouble deciding what to wear in the morning because they have so many options to choose from. We need to spend money on versatile, complementing pieces that consist of neutral classics that never go out of style.

A capsule wardrobe offers the ability to create a multitude of outfits with just a few carefully selected clothing items. To convey this message effectively, the magazine’s focus revolves around fashion. The cover design will feature an earthy color scheme, accompanied by a rustic san-serif font and a gritty texture, adding a touch of character and uniqueness.

To emphasize the idea of dependence on a minimal collection of clothes, the product shot on the cover showcases a large hanger with various shots of a miniature human hanging, leaning, or sitting on it. This visual representation will illustrate the concept of building a wardrobe that caters to multiple outfit possibilities.

Incorporating text elements seamlessly, the magazine name and supplementary content is placed against a closet background. This creative design choice adds visual interest while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic.
