Project Overview: Design an album cover using Photoshop tools learned in class, capturing the artist’s style and music essence.
This project served as a testament to my dedication, attention to detail, and technical proficiency in utilizing Photoshop’s vast array of tools and techniques. Through the amalgamation of concept, symbolism, and meticulous execution, “Exosphere” stands as a visual representation that captures the soulful essence of Frank Ocean’s music.
The album cover, titled “Exosphere,” captures the essence of transcendence. Frank Ocean is depicted seated on a transformed traffic light lamp post, defying conventions with a “no way” sign. An orange road sign nods to his previous album, channel orange. This introspective image showcases profound contemplation, suspended in the air.
Layering, masking, and adjustments were key in creating a cohesive composition. Precise masking seamlessly integrated the lamp post and Frank Ocean, achieving a unified visual aesthetic. Harmonizing hues and brightness through adjustment layers brought unity to the subdued, cloudy background.
